Most backyards in Minneapolis are underused. A flat lawn, maybe a cheap plastic table, and that's it. No reason to actually spend time out there. That's exactly the kind of thing we love to fix.
This patio is a good example of what's possible when you think beyond just a slab of concrete. We built out a clean paver surface with a built-in fire pit as the centerpiece - the kind of setup that makes you want to pull up a chair and stay out there long after the sun goes down. The pavers lay flat and tight with no awkward gaps, and the circular fire pit anchor gives the whole space a clear focal point.
The landscaping around the perimeter does a lot of the heavy lifting here too. Tall ornamental planters and grasses frame the space without boxing it in. It still feels open, but it also feels intentional - like the yard was actually designed, not just left to grow however it wanted.
That combination of hardscaping and landscaping is what separates a nice patio from a space you genuinely use. When the layout makes sense and the planting complements the structure, the whole yard just works together. That's what we aim for on every job we do.
Whether you're starting from scratch or working with an existing yard, we build outdoor spaces that fit how you actually live - not just what looks good in a photo.
